Pre-Engagement Limbo:

Of course, not all women are ready to dash down the aisle and not all men are frozen at the knee. Marriage is a unique process for each individual. But, there is the common story of the woman who wants to tie the knot with the guy who is not yet ready. When mutual needs within a relationship aren't met a whole lot of conflict can occur. It's common for women and men to be traveling at a different pace when moving towards a marriage commitment. Andrea sees the pre-engagement stage as an entire relationship passage in itself and works with clients on how to manage what she calls "pre-engagement limbo" - so that the feelings of limbo don't take over the relationship.

For the Bride-to-Be:

The "big day" will soon be here and you keep hearing it's supposed to be the best day of your life. That's a lot of pressure to place on one day, don't you think?. Getting engaged and planning a wedding can bring up a mix of emotions. Contrary to the fairy tale, Andrea knows the engagement stage is not all bliss. In her practice she works with brides-to-be to explore various issues that come up during this passage. She helps the newly-engaged recognize expectations, find clarity, and ultimately "keep it real" - so that "expectation downers" don't get in the way of what can be one of the very "many" best times of one's life. Whether brides and/or grooms are experiencing emotional angst from this relationship transition, feeling overwhelmed with wedding planning logistics, or frustrated with false hopes, Andrea works with clients to help them feel grounded - as she knows a wedding is one event that can really sweep you off your feet.

Couples communication:

Feeling misunderstood by your partner? Frustrated from conversations that go nowhere? Having trouble communicating effectively? Andrea works with clients on how to improve communication and introduces non-defensive communication techniques. It's important to share what is on our mind, but this can be difficult to do if what we say is taken too personally. Because defensive reactions shut down communication - Andrea helps couples breakthrough destructive communication patterns.

Workplace Communication:

Having trouble communicating with a co-worker that you need to be communicating with? Feeling stuck when it's your turn to share your fabulous ideas during that big meeting? Dreading that office party because you fear your shyness will you keep speachless? Andrea works with clients on how to get over the blocks and challenges that show up at work - so work days no longer have to be dread-days.

Career Related:

In career transition or simply wanting to further your present career? If you're wanting to travel on a different career path, yet feel hesitant to start something "new" Andrea works with clients to recognize how so much of one's professional experience can be integrated into that something "new." Making a change doesn't have to be about starting over, it can be about building on what you've already got. Whether it's shifting gears or further developing one's career - Andrea works with clients to identify goals, to explore strengths and weaknesses, and to establish a game plan to help make the transition a smooth and successful one
